OUr story
The Keeper’s Chair was built on the belief that a barbershop should still mean something more.
The name comes from the lighthouse keepers who once stood watch over the waters of Havre de Grace. Long before modern technology, the responsibility of the keeper was simple but very important: stay consistent, stay present, and guide people safely through uncertainty. People trusted the keeper because they knew the light would always be there.
That same mindset inspired this shop.
The Keeper’s Chair is built on consistency, craftsmanship, and connection. A place where people from different backgrounds can sit side by side, slow down for a minute, have real conversations, and leave carrying themselves with more confidence than when they walked in.
This shop stands for more than just good haircuts. It stands for professionalism without ego, tradition without being outdated, and creating an environment where you feel welcomed and respected.
“Be who you needed when you were younger” has become a guiding principle behind everything I do. For me, a barbershop was one of the first places I experienced real conversation, mentorship, accountability, humor, confidence, and community all in one room.
The goal of The Keeper’s Chair is simple: create a place the community genuinely enjoys being part of. A shop rooted in tradition, built with purpose, and committed to showing up for the community the same way the keeper once showed up for Havre de Grace.
